Weldon is sick.....

Sorry I haven't been posting...It's been beyond nuts around here...
Last week my mom was in the hospital...
Then my dad is not feeling well...
Then Sunday night, we had to have an emergency vet visit with Weldon.
He has pneumonia!  Praying he makes it though.  The last few nights have been sketchy at best.  Off to the vet now to get another round of antibiotics for him.
More info later!

My list is still long.....but working on it.

  • Get the tomatoes planted:
This picture is half way done...
when I was finished there were 150 tomato plants, caged.
  • Get the peppers planted.

  • Mow the thistles out of the pasture
(And somehow end up with head to toe poison ivy-check)
  • Find my Boy in the top of the pine tree!
  • Man helped with field mowing.
  • Burn the burn barrel.
  • Re-rototill the bean field
  • Re-rototill Boy's garden
  • Plow behind the chicken house for first time.
  • Finish mulching in back yard.

  • Fix dinner (shish-kabobs!)

  • And dessert (strawberry cheesecake pudding pie)
  • Barn Safari in our own backyard.

Farm Critters....picture heavy

I thought I would do a day in the life...but my camera kept getting in the way.  Most of my jobs are messy ones....

First Installment...Farm Critters

Yellow cat has found a nice place to lay in the sun surrounded by a crumpled up wire fence so he doesn't have to worry about Danny coming to "play" with him.

Iona-girl looking all sweet.  She is in need of a good brushing to get the winter undercoat out.

Weldon has doubled in size.  He's approximately 75-80 pounds now.

Bessie is starting to put on weight again and looking very sleek.
She'll be A.I.'d again in June.

Boy got a new set of cages for his 4H Rabbits.  We have way too many rabbits currently and some will be heading to "freezer camp" in the next few weeks.

While mowing, I ran over a wild rabbit nest.  We held onto them until we were done with the mowing and then reconstructed the nest and put them back.  Mama took them somewhere else entirely the next day.

Our newest chicks are all feathered out and will be moving out of the pumphouse and into the barn soon!
Busy on the farm.  Iona and Man getting the mower ready to go and the cows enjoying the sun.

Spring time busy-ness!

I have been in a state of BUSY for weeks.  I'm ready for a bit of a slow down.

I finally got my scrapbook room DONE!!  And I mean DONE!  It's disappointing that it's only one line on my 101 list.  After 12 very intense weeks, I'm doing a happy dance.

Then my BFF/cousin came in for a few days (The big reward for getting my room done).  (OK, so it was 90% done and she helped me get it the rest of the way done.)  AND my mom came over two days before to help me get it to the 90%.

My boy and Man went on a father/son sleepover and had a blast.

The calf is getting much bigger.  I'm milking again.  (How did my hands get so weak so quick?)

We are mowing every few days.  The business is busy.  The garden is tilled and ready to go in.

The ticks are making me crazy!

That's stuff in a nutshell...lots more details soon!  It's time to get back to my daily pictures and canning. (And getting more 101 stuff done.)
